Adventure Cat
Designed and executed a creative ad campaign for my independent tutor work at Varsity Tutors for specialized game art courses, developing five unique character pathway thumbnails released as daily speedpaints to build audience engagement. These concepts were later expanded into a cohesive poster design, featuring a fully modeled 3D Adventure Cat created in Blender, which was integrated into After Effects and Premiere Pro to produce an animated promotional poster. The campaign achieved strong organic reach, garnering 2,000+ views across LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube in under a week, showcasing effective cross-platform marketing, creative direction, and content production skills.

Process Documentation
I designed and executed a multi-platform ad campaign for Varsity Tutors to promote my specialized game art courses, framing the campaign as an immersive “call to adventure” where each pathway represented a unique RPG class within a fictional game world. I developed five distinct character pathway thumbnails, releasing daily speedpaints from Monday through Saturday to maintain algorithmic engagement and drive audience retention. These characters were intentionally designed to embody unique archetypes, each representing a core course offering—digital illustration, 2D animation, 3D modeling, career-focused mentorship, and a general starter class—giving prospective students a playful yet visually cohesive entry point into the courses.
For the campaign’s launch, I released the first video showcasing the character design process alongside the 3D model development. To maximize visibility and maintain algorithmic momentum, I prepared a backlog of content and followed a consistent posting schedule, releasing daily videos from Monday through Saturday. Each post was supported with strategically selected, relevant hashtags to improve discoverability and audience reach.
The character was intentionally designed to be cute, round, and approachable, embodying a sense of naïveté and adventurous readiness to appeal to a younger audience. During early iterations, the character had a slimmer silhouette; however, this design tested as less relatable and inviting, leading me to refine the proportions for a more welcoming and accessible visual style aligned with campaign goals.
For the following seven videos in the campaign, I shifted focus toward educational content, offering practical advice for each of the five “classes” represented in my fictional RPG-inspired framework.
This series was designed to educate, engage, and convert viewers by combining campaign storytelling with actionable, skill-focused insights, making the RPG-inspired framework both fun and directly valuable to aspiring students.
The campaign culminated in a final animated poster video, created using Premiere Pro and After Effects. I enhanced the design with dynamic background elements to bring the scene to life and incorporated puppet pin animations to give the Adventure Cat character subtle, expressive movements. This integration of 2D animation techniques with a 3D Blender model resulted in a visually engaging hero asset that unified the campaign’s RPG-inspired storytelling with high-quality promotional visuals
